I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
Imagine a people...
who are convinced that the kind of life Jesus had in mind when He spoke of “life to its fullest” is available now. What if those people decided to interpret what other thinkers have called “the good life” as a life of loving, sharing and giving?
What would happen if, empowered and inspired by that interpretation, they decided to venture into places where help was needed, both locally and globally, depending upon Jesus for their guidance? What amazing things could that community accomplish?
The people of NECC want to steward their human, spiritual, technical, and financial resources into some time-bound measurable goals. By working toward those objectives we hope to really experience, demonstrate and share life to its fullest in Christ.
Once a year on the 10th day of the 10th month we will engage the community with “1010day.” The inaugural 1010day will be a day of giving and serving our community. For more information, to give or volunteer for any of the day’s activities please contact us at 203.838.4708 or 1010project@necclife.org
The Good Life Gives:
We are now meeting to determine the two or three things our community of faith will commit to. Some of the issues weighing most heavily on us are the following:
1. Poverty alleviation.
2. The environment and our part in it.
3. Local and global AIDS relief.
4. Education of under resourced children.
We know that we cannot do everything, but we believe we can do something. We will continue to research and pray over these issues listed and will clearly communicate and commit to those things that Jesus is leading us toward, as a part of our vision for 2008.
